Staff Data Platform Engineer (Streaming & Warehousing)

The work

Halcer is hiring a Staff Data Platform Engineer to design reliable streaming and warehouse platforms for delivery programmes. You will own ingestion contracts, dimensional models, and operational SLAs — without exposing client identities in public artefacts.

You will

• Architect batch and streaming pipelines with clear data contracts and late-arriving event handling
• Model analytics marts in Snowflake/dbt with documented grain, tests, and freshness checks
• Establish observability for pipeline failures, schema drift, and cost per query
• Partner with delivery leads to turn ambiguous reporting asks into durable platform capabilities

You likely have

• 8+ years building production data platforms, including at least one warehouse migration
• Hands-on Kafka (or equivalent) plus modern transformation tooling (dbt or similar)
• Comfort with privacy-by-design: no PII in public datasets, logs, or sample extracts
• Clear written communication for runbooks and stakeholder updates
