Lead Payments & Core Banking Platform Engineer

The work

Halcer is hiring a Lead Payments Platform Engineer to modernise ledger-adjacent services and instant payment connectivity. Public materials stay anonymised: you will work with regulated patterns, not named institutions.

You will

• Design ISO 20022-aware payment orchestration, idempotency, and reconciliation flows
• Harden APIs and batch jobs against duplicate posts, timeout retries, and partial settlement
• Define controls that support PCI-DSS and audit evidence without storing unnecessary cardholder data
• Coach engineers on failure modes unique to clearing, settlement, and exception queues

You likely have

• 8+ years in payments, core banking, or high-integrity financial transaction systems
• Production experience with message-driven architectures and exactly-once (or effectively-once) processing
• Working knowledge of PCI-DSS scoping and data minimisation
• Calm incident leadership during settlement windows
